GEMERALITE

Fluorite, the most colorful mineral in the world, is found almost
anywhere. The most common colors of Fluorite range from very light
Lavender to Orange, Brown and banded crystals with white and purple
colors. Like most of other Gem Families, Fluorite has a huge garden
of colors, similar to Corundum, Beryl, Diamond, Garnet and Tourmaline
varieties.
However, only specific colors are classified as rare in each Gem
Family. For example:
- Padparadscha Sapphire verses Green, Black or White Sapphire.
- Imperial Topaz verses White or Blue Topaz.
- Ruby verses Sapphire.
- Alexandrite verses Yellow Crysoberyl.
- Tsavorite and Mandarin Garnet verse Rhodolite and Almandite
Garnet.
Until recently, the only rare variety of Fluorite was the Color
Change Fluorite(the Tanzanite like color Fluorite) a variety that
is found in Nigeria.
Today, the most rare color variety of Fluorite is the Colombian
Emerald green color discovered, named and introduced to the gem
trade by Mr. G. in April 2004.
This Unique and unusual color of Fluorite is only found in one
particular mine in the whole world. The crystal found in this mine
is very similar to that of a Colombian Emerald from the Muzzo mine.
It's color is unbelievably Pure Emerald Green.

Even though Fluorite is a Type II Gem, this particular variety
called "Gemeralite" may be classified
as a Type III Gem, always included. Eye clean transparent stones
of 5.0ct or more will definitely be considered rare.
