HIDDENITE: The rarest of
all Spodumene.

Hiddenite was first discovered in 1879 by W. E. Hidden.
The town where it was discovered North Carolina was later named
Hiddenite. This unusual gem has a unique charm in addition to its
rarity and the fact that it is known only to gem collectors. It
has an attractive pleochroism that surpasses all other pleochroic
gems. Its beauty is irresistible when it is deep and strong in color
saturation.
Many gemologists and gem dealers don’t consider the light
green Spodumene variety found in Brazil a Hiddenite due to its pale
light green color. Fortunately a new discovery of a limited deposit
near the Pakistani and Afghani border made this rare gem available
to gem connoisseurs.
Even though it is hard to find large sizes, 10-carat sizes are
possible to obtain from this particular location.
Hiddenite is very difficult to cut and can only be handled by professional
gem cutters. Here at Gem Auction TV we present Hiddenite that was
mined in the Pakistani area and cut in our own cutting factory in
Thailand.
